Abeshouse Studios is the vision of Grammy-winning producer and engineer Adam Abeshouse and his family.
For more than 40 years, Adam was a beloved and powerful force who helped artists realize their unique recorded legacies.
His lifelong dream was to create an inspiring acoustic space where musicians could record deeply expressive audio and video.
He was building it in South Salem, NY when he passed away from cancer in October 2024. His family, working closely with producers Silas Brown and Doron Schachter, are continuing his dream.
You can read more about Adam here and here including tributes from many of the incredible artists with whom he worked.
The studio has a large, acoustically alive recording space (30’ x 50’ with a 25’ high ceiling), a lovingly maintained American Steinway D from 1906 generously loaned to Adam’s family by Jeremy Denk.
There are (2) isolation spaces, one large enough for the piano, a large control room acoustically designed by Jim Keller at Sondhus, and a video production suite.
The studio rental includes Adam's extraordinary microphone and gear collection amassed over more than 30 years including many original RCA ribbon mics (1940-60), Neumann tube microphones, DPA, Royer, Flea, many one-of-a-kind microphones modified by Klaus Heyne (u67, fet47, u87), and many more.
All situated on a large, private wooded property. There are a number of convenient places to stay while working at the studio.
Doron Schachter is our in-house video producer (as well as being a Grammy-winning Audio producer / engineer). You can see more of his work here:
